  This was my second stay at the Eaglesnest. It was just as great as I remembered from the first stay. The view from the deck is spectacular. I have been of island for a few years and having no A/C in the living area took a little adjusting but the constant breeze kept it comfortable. The a/c in the bedrooms were plenty cool. We spent most of our time on the beaches and was only at the villa in the evenings. After all, the beaches are why we go to St john! : ) My only complaint was the musty smell in the wash room. The smell got in the towels when we washed them. Other than that, we had a wonderful time. As usual, we can't wait to return to St John.

  We ( wife and two children) had a great visit to St John and the Eaglesnest Villa.
  
  Everything was as expected or better... from the communications with our greeter, the coordinated Jeep Rental and Boat Trips to the Villa itself. Sometimes when renting a house without seeing it first, you expect there to be a gap between the online pics and reality. In this case, there really was no disconnect. The house was as good or better than expected and the views with the cools breezes were incredible. The amenities in the house were great and the kitchen was very well appointed with everything from flatware and table settings to cooking utensils and pots and pans to an espresso machine. We did a lot of cooking and grilling at the house and did not miss any "gadgets". The family loved the pool and all 3 decks.
  
  Even when there were issues like a smoke detector beeping with a low batter beyond our reach, they were addressed quickly and courteously.
  
  The drive up to the house was our first experience with St John roads. The pull thru driveway and carport facilitate an easy exit back on to the road vs backing out or turning around. The layout of the house worked well for us and could easily accommodate two families with small children or multiple couples.
  
  For the times we needed to be connected, there was even internet access that worked flawlessly, a phone and several options for playing music and a TV with cable to catch up on the news.
  
  Overall a great experience....we will return.

  It was nice being close to Cruz Bay for groceries, shopping and restaurants. The location of the bedrooms gave everyone privacy and quiet. Having a nice kitchen and gas grill made cooking fresh fish from the market great for dinners.

  We had a wonderful vacation visiting St. Johns and staying at Eaglesnest. The location was perfect and the view was breath taking. We loved waking up in the morning and watching the sun rise over the villa. The only issue we think needs improvement would be the bedrooms. While at Eaglesnest, we all had numerous bug bites from both the beaches and at night in our rooms. I feel it would be very helpful if each bed had a netting that enclosed it to protect people while sleeping. We were very happy with how well the kitchen was stocked with utensils, first aid items, and every ammenity needed. The living room could use a new tv which is extremely dated and didnt work 100% for us. I realize that watching tv is not first on the list while on vacation...but watching the morning and nightly news, along with our children winding down at night, was something we liked to do. Otherwise, we were extremely happy with our greeter, the general location of the house and ammenities included.

Mosquito netting requires lots of hardware and not all guests like to feel enclosed so instead, the villa's owners have screens on all doors and windows.   Eaglesnest is a beautiful home situated well above the water at the mouth of Gread Cruz Bay.
  Lovely views. Substantial amenities, including a pantry with sunscreen & bug repellant, as well as a first aid was nice to have enough room to put our grocieries in the pantry,and plenty of plastic containers to store leftovers. These things are almost never provided in the homes we have rented in St.John. Overall a lovely stay.

  We had a great week on St. John. Our only complaint was a broken air conditioner in one bedroom that should have been discovered before we moved in. We had to put 4 kids in one bedroom because of the heat. They fixed it in a day or so and everything else was great.

  There were only a few negative things about the house. If I owned it, I would purchase a new refrigerator as it is one of the first things you see. Also, we got bit by some insect during our whole stay and we hoped it wasn't bed bugs - but they loved our legs the most. We used bug spray but it didn't seem to help. I still itch.

While the refrigerator functions perfectly, there is one rust spot we’ve observed and will be painting it over as soon as possible. On St. John, we have “sandflies” and perhaps one of those bit you-it does itch. We regularly check our mattresses for bedbugs and will be even taking a further step this Season by installing protect-a-beds at all homes. The panaramoic view spanned all the way from the Westin beach on Great Cruz Bay across the Carribean to St. Thomas. It was great to conclude every day with dinner for six on the upper deck, prepared in the well-equipped kitchen.

The location was outstanding (we love the proximity to Cruz Bay) and the villa was very comfortable (the breeze on the deck cannot be beat)...well appointed and clean. We enjoyed it so that we have already reserved it for our 2011 Caribbean vacation. VivaVillas were easy to work with and quick to answer our needs.   If we return to St John, we will return to Eaglesnest. The house is very well-situated: close to Cruz Bay so it's easy to get to restaurants and grocery stores, but it feels far away. The view is gorgeous and the outdoor space is superb. The decor in the indoor space feels a bit dated, but who cares? The situation is fantastic and the layout works very well -- central kitchen and great room with bedrooms on either side. Worked perfectly for our family of four with children ages 3 & 5. Viva was also great. Highly recommend.

  We had a wonderful vacation. Eaglesnest worked out great for our trip. I thought I read that the lower bedrwoom had a mini fridge and microwave and it did not. We had to make some changes to who was sleeping were because of that but everything else was great. I would def, stay here again. Great value, this isn't a new home but it is in good condition. The view is priceless.

  This home was perfect for our family.
  It had a beautiful(warm) pool. Views were amazing! Great location to town. Home was fully stocked! Viva Villa agents were the best I have ever delt with.. warm/friendly/always available. Loved having the car port for the days it rained! Cleaning service was included (once a week - this was wonderful!!) The ONLY reason I did not rate the general condition a 5 was because the living area was a little small - furniture was rather outdated and there were bar stools at the kitchen counter that you could not use b/c they were too small. However the dining area had a very large table with comfortable chairs. The 2 large decks made up for the small living area - as we spent most time outside enjoying the pool or breath taking views!! It was nice to have wireless internet access too! Bedrooms were air conditioned & house had plenty of ceiling fans. Full size washer and dryer in separate laundry room. It was also nice to have the close line available on the first floor deck to hang towels. Would have liked the grill to be by the pool -- it is off the kitchen area. Overall we loved staying at Eagles Nest and would highly recommend to anyone!!

  We love Eaglesnest but my husband and I stayed in the bedroom by the pool this time and had a problem with mosquitos in our room. Our guests who stayed there last year had the same problem.

  We had a great time. One thing we would suggest is to replace the beach chairs as they are old and keep slipping.
  And the sliding door on the downstairs room needs to be replaced it keeps slipping off the runner. Other than that it was great.
