VIVA! Villas, Inc. has provided St. John, US Virgin islands with professional property management and booking services for over a decade. We are a family run company who assists our guests with planning individual and group vacations.

We recognize the need for quality vacation properties in the Virgin Islands and enjoy working in the hospitality industry. VIVA! Villas, Inc. prides itself in taking ever measure to ensure your stay is enjoyable. Our forty local professionals are dedicated to creating and coordinating the dream vacation for our guests.  Our team includes reservations & sales, accounting, guest services, maintenance, housekeeping, landscapers, exterminators and pool crew who all work together to prepare the villas for our guests' arrival. They do a great job and we appreciate their hard work!

We have extensive local knowledge as island residents and love every minute of sharing it with visitors! Our company features beautiful villas, customized vacations, adventures and personalized, friendly service, all solely on and around the island of St John. Meet some of the people who make it all happen: 

Owner

Angie Smith-Liburd, General Manager, studied hospitality at both Georgia State University and The University of the Virgin Islands where she went on to obtain a bachelor’s degree in business management, concentrating in marketing and advertising, graduating with honors.  She brings the knowledge of accounting, marketing, advertising and business skills to the company.  Moved to St. John from Tampa Florida over 20 years ago, Angie has made a home on the island.  Now as mother of five(!), Angie is one busy lady. She loves the beaches, the mountains and the year round summer on St. John and is proud of the consistent high level of quality and services her VIVA team provides our island visitors every day. 

General Manager

General Manager Karin Schlesinger came to St. John by way of New England with a BS degree in Management Information Systems, and a strong track record in client relations. An island resident for over a decade, Karin authored a book called Desiring Paradise about her experiences in getting to St. John. She started out with VIVA! in Guest Services, handling our guests arrivals and ensuring they had a smooth transition and ensuring our guests have a wonderful stay! Karin then moved up to Sales Manager, Manager, and finally General Manager overseeing daily operations for VIVA! and managing the VIVA! Office Team.  She also oversees the VIVA portfolio of properties and works with our property owners to continually provide the best values possible to our island visitors!    

 

Guest Services

Christine Charles, our Guest Services Manager, was born and raised on St. John. New to VIVA in 2007, Christine has brought many years of experience in the St. John vacation market and an excellent reputation for top-notch customer service with her. Her intimate knowledge of St. John and its people helps assist our visitors find the perfect amenities and activities for their vacation. Beware – her sunny disposition is catching!

If you are searching for an in-villa masseuse, a great car rental company, a great sailboat adventure, or a hot new restaurant to try, Christine can help. She also gathers guest travel logistics information, coordinates their arrival on-island, and is ready to help throughout your on-island stay. Needless to say, Christine is a busy and popular lady!

Sales Manager

Sherrolyn Stapleton was born right here in the Virgin Islands! She graduated from the University of the Virgin Islands with Bachelor's degrees in Marketing and Management. In her role of Sales, her leadership, local knowledge, marketing and customer services experience all come into play.

Sherrolyn manages an in-house team of villa specialists who pride themselves in their ability to find the perfect vacation spot for our island visitors. Her team also works with an extensive list of travel agents and wholesalers who know that VIVA is easy to work with and takes care of their clients!

Field Operations Manager

Very active in the St. John community, Corine Matthias started with VIVA! Villas as a greeter, welcoming our arriving guests and giving them a villa orientation. Corine has also worked as a villa inspector ensuring consistency in work done by our field staff. Most recently, Corine has also been acting in the capacity of After-Hours Emergency Contact for our on-island guests. This wealth of experience made her promotion to Field Operations manager, handling the maintenance and housekeeping staff a natural fit. Corine is a seasoned professional constantly looking for ways to improve your vacation experience! Corine is also responsible for the greeters who meet our island visitors and orient them to the island. 

Accounting

Accounting Manager, Pat Cark came to St. John from Ann Arbor Michigan where she ran a retail business for many years.  She is a full charge bookkeeper and works closely with our villa owners as well as the rest of the VIVA! Team - always looking for ways we can improve the things we do!  Pat regularly interfaces with our various subcontractors and island businesses and keeps them on their toes. She is an avid reader and our unofficial VIVA team baker – her cookies are to die for!

Retreats Coordinator

Allison Smith, Ph.D., our Retreats Coordinator has twenty-five years of experience in private practice in psychology and conducting workshops, facilitating groups and coordinating retreats internationally. She combines a broad range of experience and expertise in human relations, innovative program development, the tourism industry and event coordination. Allison is also the founder and director of the People Moving Forward Foundation, a non profit humanitarian, networking and educational organization, edits the Many Paths newsletter and coordinates workshops and retreats on St. John for organizations such as the Omega Institute for Holistic Studies, Life Without Limits, the Center for Living and many more.

A mother and grandmother, she is an 20+ year resident of St. John who sailed to the island on her sailboat "One Love" and enjoys sharing the Caribbean experience with guests. She is a writer and teacher, offering workshops, retreats and groups in relationship rejuvenation, prosperity consciousness, life enhancement, A Course in Miracles, emotional release and spiritual practice, on St. John, on cruise ships and around the world.

She holds degrees from the University of South Florida and LaSalle University in psychology, sociology, guidance and counseling, administration and supervision and theocentric counseling.
