We stayed in this villa with 2 kids (4 and 2 years old) - kids didn't want to leave the pool. We enjoyed the scenery and BBQ every night. Quiet, safe environment. You will need to rent a car here - 8 minutes drive to the town and shops.

We had a great time at Sea Dream. The location gave us a lot of privacy and we also enjoyed the beautiful ocean view. The only thing we were dissapointed about was that the master bedroom bed combined two single matresses instead of having a full size mattress. Since we are planning to return we hope the owners invest in a good full size mattress in the master bedroom.
Thank you for your feedback! The left bedroom is the Master bedroom. It has two twin box springs but a standard King size mattress. The bedroom on the right has two twins that can convert to a King if requested. The owner specifically has that room with the twins for families or singles traveling that would like to be in the same room but have seperate beds. 3 couples stayed at Sea Dream April 20th through 27th 2011. This was a magical place. The beaches are beautiful and the Villa was fabulous. Viva Villas did a great job meeting our needs. Their staff are excellent. Location of this villa is close to shopping, restaurants, beaches and groceries making it very convienient but remains very private and quite. All 3 couples would return in a heartbeat. Thank you Viva Villa's
Our greeter met us at the ferry station in Cruz Bay, and it was just a short drive to Sea Dream. The home is beautifully situated with views of the Caribbean and St Croix in the distance. The home is close enough to Cruz bay (five minute drive) for convenience but also in a very quiet neighborhood. Would definitely recommend Sea Dream

This villa is completely private, and I mean completely -- as in, you can skinny dip in the pool and no one can see you -- yet within a five-minute drive of the conveniences of Cruz Bay. For our party -- a mom and her three young adult daughters -- it was just the right size and the amenities cannot be beat. The kitchen was large, well laid out and wonderfully equipped. Appreciated that it was stocked with basic cleaning supplies and plastic bags. Also deeply, deeply appreciated the abundant stock of substantial beach towels. The eating terrace on the top level has a gorgeous view south over flowering trees to Chocolate Hole and the blue, blue sea. We returned home after every beach day, sticky and salty and covered with SPF-15, and immediately took a refreshing dip in the plunge pool. Our only real complaint was that St John has poky internet (but the villa's wireless worked like a charm). We made one service call about a leaky air conditioner and burned out light bulb, and both problems were fixed within hours. We would absolutely stay there again, the sooner, the better as far as I am concerned.

Wonderful travel experience overall. Only recommendations would be to clarifly the relationship between the property owner and VIVA Villas, map and written directions to/from Cruz Bay to the Villa, improved internet access beyond the phoneline, and media components that worked.
We absolutely agree that Sea Dream is a "Dream Come True" and will inform the Property Manager's to provide written directions and a map to guests and the owners to consider a different form of internet access. Thank you for your feedback!

The Sea Dream was a wonderful place to stay. Absolutely no issues... Very private but convenient to Cruz Bay. It was our first visit to ST John and we can’t wait to return … the Sea Dream made our visit very special. Thanks for sharing your villa with us.

We've stayed in several homes on the Virgin Islands rented through different agencies. Sea Dream was by far the best equipped and comfortable. We did find that it took awhile for the water to get hot in the kitchen & bathroom and were concerned that running it like that was somewhat wasteful. The only noise that we heard was a rooster and a couple of nearby dogs. The staff at Viva were pleasant, cooperative, responsive and very professional. A concern about lighting on the outside stairs at night was taken care of very promptly.

King beds should be advertised as having two separate mattresses each. The handle to the dishwasher needs attention.

Fabulous! Only negative thing that happened during our 12 nite stay was that my son's Sony Playstation Personal (PSP) was removed from the house while we were out enjoying the awesome beaches of St. John. Use the safe in the house for EVERYTHING of any value (we failed to lock up the PSP) even if you locked up the house.
From the moment we were greeted by Marilyn at the ferry dock, we felt at home in this comfortable villa. Sea Dream was an excellent suggestion from Sherrolyn for three couples (Mom and Dad, two grown children, a wife and significant other), who desired a bit of privacy. The construction below was not a problem, as the music of the birds and tree frogs took center stage. A nice size pool and stunning view from the cool breezes on the veranda make it easy to recommend this villa!
This is a great house; new, clean, easy location, great layout. Great prices too. Will return here again and again. This was our second visit to Sea Dream.

The house was wonderful and much more than we expected. The website didn't do it justice. The car rental service that was recommended by you is another story. We have vacationed several times to St John with family and friends and had never used L&L car rental and will never use them again. If I were you I would not have my companies name assocated with them. We rented two jeeps, one of the jeeps ac worked on and off, when I called L&L to tell them, I was told to jiggle the handle or shut the car off and turn it on again(real professional). When we turned the cars in we were told that one of the jeeps was not clean enough and charged us the 50 dollar cleaning fee. Both jeeps looked exactly the same, both had some sand and since we were on a island and went to a different beach everyday there is going to be some sand, its called usage. So unless someone supplies the rentees a shop-vac it would be impossible to return the car without some sand. Not a good way end a very lovely week.
The rental company owners informed us that a cleaning clause is in his rental contract and that the sand in one of the two rental vehicles was extraordinary. They do expect some sand in a vehicle but expect guests to do their best to minimize this problem.

Beautiful house, pool and gardens. The management staff were very helpful and prompt in fixing the few minor problems we encountered. The view is fairly good, but currently overlooks an ugly construction site in Chocolate Hole. I was quite bothered by the hot water system that required running the water at least 3-4 minutes to get warm water. (Management staff confirmed that this is typical for the house). Even with the low-flow showerheads, 3 guests would waste over 300 gallons/week just waiting for hot water to shower once a day, shave and wash dishes by hand. With fresh water so scarce on the island, this seems an incredible waste. This is the only villa we've seen with this problem in many visits to St. John. We were also bothered by moderate construction and truck noise from a complex in Chocolate Hole, starting weekdays around 7:15 am. This is a beautiful house. Assuming the construction will be completed at some point, we would rent again if the hot water problem could be resolved.
Owner's comment: Thank you for your feedback! From nice natural cool to solar heated hot shower water it takes 2 min. with one shower and 45 sec. with two showers going - quantity used about the same as one toilet flush. I typically use the cool water and my wife gets the hot water. All water goes to a gray water tank, and every drop is needed for the garden. No waste. Happily, the construction noise is now gone.
The element of dissatisfaction comes only from the very noisy surroundings. Both the neighborhood noises, which might be easier to take if the construction quotient was not so high, were incredible and unpleasant, overriding lots of the nice things. Staff from both companies was super and mollified us as best they could. Had we known all this in advance we may have made another choice. All else was super!
