This was our first time traveling to the US Virgin Islands. The house was "Magic" and the view was even better! It was an easy drive to Cruz Bay and the beaches. Christine with VIVA was the best! We will definitely be back!!

I would recommend this property to others but here are areas for improvement of the property: Air Condition all buildings. This will especially help the kitchen to keep insects out and to decrease how hard the refrigerator has to work. Found a scorpion in the fridge on the last morning! Put proper door seals on all door frames. Too many insects and lizards get into the rooms and would aid in cooling too. Guest building has an open air shower. Advertise this or enclose it since mosquitos and lizards can enter through here. Also makes it impossible to cool building with AC. Roof leaks in Family room...3rd rafter over from the left as you look at the ocean. Roof also leaks in the laundry room. Kitchen needs a plastic pitcher for drinks/cool-aid. Front gate cannot be locked at night. Nicer TV in family room would be good for kids and cordless phones in other buildings could be added rather than the only phone being in the kitchen. Exterior door hinges in guest bedroom were coming out...one fell out while we were there.
July 2010 update: Temptress has been improved...and has had a name change to Magic View Villa Temptress has undergone great improvements since your visit: the roof leak has been repaired and new doors, fixtures, painting & landscaping added. The air-conditioning is operational in the bedrooms and living room area -they were serviced. In addition to the structural changes, all new furniture (inside and outside), original artwork, luxury linens, a flat screen television,DVD player and new stem ware were purchased. We invite you back to see the NEW TEMPTRESS and to enjoy all of the great amenities therein! The VIVA Team!
A precious little gem! Views are to die for. It's also clear that VIVA, as property managers, insure that the property is up to par. This property is ideal for 2 adults or a family of 4 with teenage children. The layout and the drop off from the decks would make this villa a poor choice for a family with younger children. For adults, however, it's awesome! This is not a fancy villa, but it's simplicity has a charm of it's own. We would definitely return. We would also recommend contacting VIVA if you are looking for a vacation villa to rent.

There is a pull out sleeper sofa in the greatroom for an additional sleeping area and lots of original artwork, new furniture, bedding and luxury linens have all been added to improve the decor-the diamond in the rough has truly been revealed! Nice views but no place to sit. The house is broken into 4 buildings: MBR, kitchen, LR, BR2. There is nowhere to sit except on the beds. Furniture in the living room is really uncomfortable and there's no place to eat a meal. Also, this is a bad rental for families with young children. There are no railings and the 2 bedrooms are far away with the pool between them. Great for 2 couples. Also, the cheesy way the management company put "please tip the greeter" started our vacation on a bad tone.
Thank goodness for guest feedback! No VIVA guest should ever be told or even feel that any tip is ever expected - it is against our written greeter policies. We have already addressed this greeter violation thanks to your on-line feedback and further discussions with you! Other good news - the owner of Temptress is addressing the concern of comfortable seating and other improvements you've suggested and also sends you her heartfelt thanks. We are already looking forward to your next visit! 2010 update-new outside seating has been added to Temptress both off the greatroom and off the kitchen area as well. This additional outside seating offers comfort, style and the ability to lounge and full enjoy the views!
